Ok, not quite, BUT, they concede that the Ron Paul Revolution is a movement with far reaching effects.
It's funny how you don't hear comparisons anymore to the Howard Dean campaign because this Ron Paul Revolution has eclipsed it totally. Congratulations America, it looks like the Ron Paul Revolution fuse has been lit and there is no putting it out and no going back. Even if Ron Paul doesn't win, he's ignited and energized a segment of the population and an ideology that WILL EVENTUALLY PREVAIL.
FROM CBS NEWS OPINION PIECE:
"Paul's campaign refers to itself as "The Ron Paul Revolution" and there can be no doubt any longer that it is revolutionizing the way in which grassroots fundraising plays out in American presidential campaigns."
"If Republican primary voters follow - even in reasonable numbers - then Ron Paul's campaign really will be a revolution. And he will be the 2008 candidate who is remembered for doing something that can matter more than winning a party nomination or a November election, and that is changing the politics of a country that needs every new approach to altering a corrupt and dysfunctional status quo."

“There is a revolution going on in this country and I’m happy to be a part of it.”
"The fact that Ron Paul supporters are enthusiastic and willing to work in the trenches disseminating information about him should alert any intelligent person that there is something important about the Ron Paul message and that it needs to be investigated more thoroughly. Ron Paul has been quoted as saying, “There is a revolution going on in this country and I’m happy to be a part of it.”"

MSNBC on Ron Paul, The 6 Million Dollar Man! "WOW"
From MSNBC's "First Thoughts"
"*** Ron Paul’s Tea Party: Speaking of Paul… Pegged to the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, the Paul campaign yesterday raked in more than $6 million, surpassing the $4 million-plus it raised in an earlier fundraiser tied to Guy Fawkes Day. And it has now raised $18.2 million for the 4th quarter. We have one word to say about Paul’s haul: Wow. Much has been made about the lack of the excitement over the GOP field. But there is clearly excitement -- at least online -- about one of the Republican candidates. The problem for the GOP is Paul won’t likely be its nominee. And many of these Paul backers aren’t really Republicans…

How the Latest "MSM" Push for Huckabee Will Backfire
I thought something was afoot when I happened to be watching a Faux News segment a few weeks ago with baby faced Neo Con Hegemon Bill Crystal. I basically heard Bill Crystal, out of nowhere, talking up Mike Huckabee. Billy boy was apparently one of the first to get the new Neo-Con marching orders. Apparently the neo-cons have come to realize that a choice between Guilliani or Hillary just ain't cutting it with the American People who have half of a brain. They've come to realize this because they are SCARED TO DEATH of what is going on with the freight train that is the Ron Paul campaign.
I don't think it is going to be lost on people that this latest "Mike Huckabee" phenomenon has been purely media driven. Here you have someone like Ron Paul, with MUCH MORE support by almost every metric than Mike Huckabee, but you hear almost nothing positive from the likes of Fox News about Ron Paul (though most other outlets are not much better).
I thought something was up when I started to see Fox News portray Hillary Clinton in a positive light. A few months ago, I heard that doddering old fool, Fred Barnes, saying things like (i'm paraphrasing) "A Hillary Presidency wouldn't be a horrible thing."
Faux News doesn't care who wins, as long as they are for empire and perpetual war for perpetual peace. They would have preferred either Hillary or Guiliani, but they are nothing if not practical. The way Huckabee has zoomed in the polls and is currently (cynically) a media darling shows you how the power elites are very, very nervous about the Ron Paul Revolution.

A Future "Ron Paul Fanatic"?
Here is one of the more sincere "Ron Paul information quests" by somebody unfamiliar and coming from an obviously hostile position. I don't think he's completed his research though because of the last few sentences. If these are your bugaboos...do some research on those topics IN SPECIFIC and read what Ron Paul says HIMSELF about these matters. As far as his "whiteness" goes. There's not much we can do about the author's prejudice on that front although I'd point out to the author that he berates voting for somebody based on far less serious criteria.
The most interesting thing to me about this article came at the second paragraph:
"First of all, I did not know this guy was a Republican. From the Ron Paul groupies I have talked to (or listened to, rather – I wouldn’t be able to get a word in even if I did know anything about the candidates), I could have sworn he was liberal and Democrat."
This is incredible if you think about it. EVERYONE in the mainstream media is assuming that Ron Paul as an independent party candidate would strip votes away from the Republicans. WRONG! An independent Ron Paul run will strip votes away from EVERYONE. The Libertarian Party is on the rise! The philosophy is now "underground mainstream".

Huckabee is "Paul Lite" to the Establishment
What's this sudden fascination that the mainstream media has with Mike Huckabee?
Here's the deal, plain and simple:
The establishment is scared to death of the Ron Paul campaign. They have realized that a Rudy or Clinton just isn't going to cut it.
Huckabee, while not the establishments first choice, is seen as different enough from Clinton, Rudy, Obama et al to attract voters if he's given an artificial boost in the political milieu.
They see Huckabee as better than Paul because Huckabee will continue on with the Neo-con war agenda.
The establishment is using Huckabee to run interference to Paul.

Too Many Candidates...ENOUGH of the "lower tiers"
I tell ya, why is it that SO MUCH ATTENTION is being given to the lower tier candidates? Why is CNBC concentrating so much on Fred Thompson, John McCain and Rudy "C-Cup" Giuliani?
The media could make this debate MUCH more understandable to the audience if they have TWO podiums. One with Ron Paul and the other with the candidates lined up behind each other. Isn't that what we're really talking about here?
CNBC update. AMAZING. Not one word about Ron Paul. What a joke. Wouldn't it be ironic if the new Fox Business News channel decides to capitalize on the Ron Paul craze and started to eat CNBC's lunch? CNBC should be ashamed. I wonder who is "war gaming" at CNBC. I mean. Did somebody REALLY decide that it would be better to minimize Ron Paul by NOT MENTIONING HIM AT ALL?! That is going to backfire big time. The would have been better off giving him AT LEAST the same coverage they are giving to loser, Huckabee. It's OBVIOUS to anyone who's watching today's coverage that they are crapping their pants about a Ron Paul whooping this afternoon.

but of course, since i've been watching CNBC early this morning, they have mentioned EVERYONE except Ron Paul...even Huckabee. It's unbelievable AND THEY AREN'T GETTING AWAY WITH IT ANYMORE. Judging from their own online poll, Ron Paul is CRUSHING at 73% right now (over 5,000 votes and counting).

RonZilla. Alan Stang on Ron Paul
"At last, the camera turned to Dr. Paul. Yes, he is handsome. He even looks like a President. But, after all, he’s a yokel, an innocuous country doctor. They would let him mumble for the allotted few minutes and move on. Everybody knows this thing is between Rudy and Mitt. Everything else is window dressing.
Then, suddenly, without warning, there was an Incredible Hulk transformation. Godzilla was onstage, biting off heads, tearing off limbs and chewing on the bones. Who was he? Where had he come from? Who let him in? The reptilian media scumbags couldn’t very well drag him off the dais. The cameras were live. They had to sit there and listen while Dr. Ron assured them that his first official act as President would be to dismantle IRS.
And across the country, from the west bank of the Hudson to the California line, a roar erupted, as millions of astounded Americans who pay the taxes, fight the wars and go to work (unless their jobs have been deported), realized that Dr. Ron was saying in plain English what they believe in private. Most of the other candidates spoke boilerplate. They saw they were not alone and not crazy. “Imagine! A candidate for President who thinks like me.”

The Ron Paul Breakthrough
Great article by Justine Romiando at Antiwar.Com.
Ron Paul is breaking through. His call to return to the vision of the Founders, and the principles embodied in the Constitution, is piercing the wall of silence that surrounds the conduct of our disgraceful foreign policy. Andrea Mitchell proclaims him the new Howard Dean, network television takes note of his fundraising prowess and the resonance of his message, and then we have this very favorable piece on CNN, not to mention this, this, and this – all of which points to the appearance – or, rather, reappearance – of a resurgent political movement on the horizon: an anti-interventionist wing of the GOP.
Commentators, including those who most definitely look on Paul's success with a very jaundiced eye, are baffled. Why is this happening? How could a mere blip on the electoral screen, a man nobody thought was worth even a footnote in the story of this presidential campaign, suddenly catapult into prominence?
The answer is illustrated in a recent poll, which shows that the majority of Iowa Republicans want us out of Iraq in six months – a far more radical proposition than any of the major Democrats has yet to offer. It's no accident that Paul's political breakthrough is occurring just as the dissatisfaction of the GOP rank and file over the Iraq war issue reaches the breaking point. As the sole antiwar candidate in the Republican field, it makes perfect political sense that Paul's campaign is in the ascendancy.

Ron Paul Floored With Online Fundraising Success - Letter from Ron Paul
Ron Paul's Latest Press Release
"Whenever I face a hit piece on tv, or a smear in a newspaper column, I remember my secret weapon: you. "
"We can't duplicate the spending of the big boys, and we don't have to, thanks to the internet and our magnificent army of volunteers. "
Ron Paul is raising COLD HARD CASH…and in the end, whatever his final total is, you can multiply it by at least 10 because you have to put some kind of consideration to all the time “Paulites” put in to free campaigning….I think the Neo Cons call it a “Force Multiplier”. Most people who support Ron Paul don’t do it half heartedly. They do it with a gusto rarely, rarely ever seen before. The more people know about him, the more they like him despite even major disagreements.
Real more.

"There is Ron Paul and there is everyone else," said Blue State Digital's Macon Phillips
"There is Ron Paul and there is everyone else," said Blue State Digital's Macon Phillips whose clients include the Democratic National Committee. "He is crushing it in some very narrow channels online."
At a Wednesday conference on "New Media and the 2008 Campaign," representatives from four campaigns were asked by Politico.com's Ben Smith, the panel's moderator, if their candidate would consider reaching out to Paul's on-line backers.
"I hate to say anything about Ron Paul supporters because -- " said Jon Henke, who handles New Media engagement for Fred Thompson. At this point, Smith interjected, saying, "Your email and your blackberry will shut down?"
The audience, which was familiar with the intensity of Paul's online support, broke into knowing laughter as Henke said, "Yeah, right."

Ron Paul: "I'm just bewildered."
"Nobody seems more surprised by the youth-driven boomlet than Paul, a diminutive man with a gentle, old-fashioned manner. As more than 1,000 supporters gathered to hear him speak at a downtown Chicago hotel last Saturday, he slouched in a chair in a nearby conference room, wearing a grey suit with black sneakers and navy blue cotton socks.
"I'm just bewildered," he said, his tufty eyebrows climbing a notch higher. "I'm totally overwhelmed, because I've always thought of myself as a pretty quiet person with a very serious message."

The "Ron Paul Realization"
I'm sure this story is happening over and over, only the names change.
"Walker, a waitress and anthropology student who lives in Chicago, cried on Election Night 2004, crushed that Democrat John Kerry had failed to unseat President Bush. Last year, deeply disillusioned with the Iraq war and with politicians of both par ties who had failed to stop it, she began a political odyssey that transformed her into a libertarian Republican.
Now, she spends "every free moment" campaigning for Paul..."

A Question for Ron Paul Supporters (re)
Cry me a river. I wonder if this guy wants to be held accountable for every single one of his nut job fringe elements. But his last few sentences REALLY show the difference between his mindset and one more....free:
I wonder what he would suggest? "Police their own." It's called free speech. If poor Giuliani was feeling threatened, that would be assault and Goolyani should press charges. He hasn't? Then it wasn't assault, it was free speech. The type who would harp on this has a hard time grasping the difference. Let me help them out: YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO NOT BE OFFENDED.

Why are Ron Paul Detractors so Frightened?
The money shots imho:
"That’s the way Ron Paul supporters are. They don’t have to be asked to do something for their candidate. They don’t have to be told to go out and campaign. They simply do what they can, or what they think needs to be done. Most are extremely enthusiastic about Ron Paul, and some would say they are too enthusiastic. Perhaps they are right and in some cases Ron Paul supporters get a little overbearing in their zeal, but that is to be expected. "
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
"Many of Ron Paul’s supporters might not have supported anyone in this campaign had Ron Paul decided not to run. No other candidate, either Republican or Democrat, espouses the principles Ron Paul supports."

Geeks Turn Out for Ron Paul ($500/geek!)
"At a fundraiser at San Francisco's swanky Palace Hotel, a 40-odd group of Ron Paul supporters paid $500 a head to have breakfast with "Dr. Paul," as they call him. Outside, a large group of supporters chanted their support. Cars honked, and passers-by joined in the chanting.
"Ron Paul!" they shouted. "Freedom!"
Inside, supporters could hear the passionate chants from the street through the thick hotel windows as the Texas congressman ended his morning speech. A polite chuckle rumbled through the room.
The breakfast attendees and the supporters on the street were mostly young white men who appeared to be white-collar professionals. Several of those interviewed by Wired News worked in the technology business. "

Ron Paul raises $10,000/hour!!!!
"...A relatively small sum of money compared to most media preferred candidates, but it still over played expectations and showed a sign of a little momentum. Apparently Paul’s campaign is attempting to beat expectations again with an online donation challenge to raise $500,000 in the seven days remaining in the quarter. Ron Paul’s campaign has to date been running a highly effective guerilla campaign literally living off the land and slowly building a war chest to compete this winter in the primaries. The campaigns emphasis and awareness that fund raising prowess can’t be totally ignored by the media reflects not only high quality strategic campaigning but also apparently a belief that it can exceed expectations. Pining for Terrorism
Anybody else think that the "war hawks", both Democrat AND Republican know something the rest of us might only suspect? They just seem so smug in their pro war stance EVEN THOUGH the VAST majority of Americans are against it....as if they know something....
Rick Santorum:
http://willdo.philadelphiaweekly.com/archives/2007/07/rick_santorum_w.html
"Between now and November, a lot of things are going to happen, and I believe that by this time next year, the American public’s going to have a very different view of this war, and it will be because, I think, of some unfortunate events, that like we’re seeing unfold in the UK. But I think the American public’s going to have a very different view."
Then there is this sicko openly hoping for a terrorist attack:http://www.arkansasnews.com/archive/2007/06/07/News/342341.html
"At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing (in Iraq), and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on (Sept. 11), and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country," Milligan was quoted as saying in the Sunday edition of Arkansas' statewide newspaper."Creepy.

Drudge Report Hates Ron Paul
Hmmmm. I decided to do a search of Drudge Report's archives for "Ron Paul".
Results: 4! Four lousy articles on Ron Paul since May 07. What's the LAST article DrudgeReport.Com had about Ron Paul?
NY TIMES Sunday Preview: Ron Paul Supporters 'Wackos'... ^ July 20, 2007.
A search of DrudgeReport archives for "Hillary Clinton" returned 204 articles. Last article about Hillary? 9/20/2007.
Isn't it funny how a democrat can get more than 50 times the coverage on a supposedly "conservative" news site?

Same Deal, No Doubt, For Ron Paul
"I found this thread on the Democratic Underground: I found out why Kucinich is so far down in the polls. It reads:
My New Hampshire phone rings (caller ID 000-000-0000 WTF?)and I pick it up out of curiosity. "This is (talking like a magpie so I haven't got a clue what the name of the company is) Research. Would you like to be part of a poll for the Democratic presidential primary candidate?" I agree and the woman rapidly reads the list of candidates. "Clinton, Obama, Edwards, Dodd, Biden and Richardson." I say, "Kucinich." The woman on the phone says "Who?" I say, "Kucinich. Dennis Kucinich." I hear coaching in the background - apparently the call is being monitored. "I'm sorry, but Dennis Kucinich is not on our list. Is there anyone on the list I gave you who you would vote for?"
So there you have it. Kucinich is down in the polls because he isn't included in the polls . . . and you can forget about Gravel, too. No doubt the same thing is happening with the Republican polls as well. So - forget about the polls!"

When ideas start to matter, libertarians will win....
by Koen Swinkelsby Koen Swinkels
The Ron Paul presidential campaign has the potential to become the best thing that has happened to the cause of liberty since the fall of the Berlin Wall. The campaign may well develop into a mass education program spreading the ideas of liberty throughout the nation, exposing the only true class conflict in society, thereby giving rise to a populist grassroots movement sowing the seeds of revolution.
Obfuscation
The state depends for its continued existence on the enthusiastic support of only a few. It requires the acquiescence of many more. The few that are enthusiastic about the state are the ones that profit from it, such as politicians, bankers, bureaucrats, contractors, big corporations, mainstream media (MSM), intellectuals, lobbyists and unions. The profit comes at the expense of the many. This as the classical liberals explained is the only meaningful class conflict in society. The trick to keeping the many complacent is to deceive them into thinking they are actually not being plundered.

1988 Interview of Ron Paul (proves he's a loon?)
Makes me wonder if that's how a totally uninitiated person views this 1988 clip? It all seemed reasoned and reasonable to me.

This is the best "hit" piece on Ron Paul they can come up with.
Ironic how Slate appears to have made this video as a hit piece on Ron Paul but his supporters are the ones who put it up to prove a very cogent point.
Like one comment said "11Jamie11 (1 day ago) LOL... Ron is a little bit odd now and then. I love him though. :-)

Melissa Etheridge would like to talk to Ron Paul?
"LF: If you could face the Republican candidates next, who would you like to put some questions to?
ME: Oh, the only Republican candidate I would even talk to is Ron Paul. Actually, now that I think of it, I would like to talk to Mike Huckabee because he’s a spiritual guy and there’s a little more to him than these other guys who seem to be power-hungry and weird."

The Unspoken Line on Ron Paul
As an intent observer of the Ron Paul campaign, I'm constantly amazed at his apparent wide appeal and the almost total lack of discord between all the various groups. I would venture to say that Paul supporters range from Liberal Democrats to Conservative Republicans, Paleo Conservatives all the way to "9-11 truthers". It's NOT that ALL of them don't have one major and/or not so major dis agreement with Ron Paul's message. It just seems that there is this sort of unspoken doctrine: "Ron Paul isn't perfect, but he's 'our' best candidate."
I think this comes from the realization that what Ron Paul is trying to do, is get our government back to a point where IT DOESN'T MATTER who's in charge of it. Paul wants to accomplish this by getting back to the Constitution to a degree not thought of for a long, long time, to a degree where the people's constitutional rights and liberties are protected even if "devils are in charge." (Alexander Hamilton?)...or Republicans or Democrats or........

Laura Ingram likes Ron Paul?!
The folks over at LewRockwell.Com found this great clip of Laura Ingram saying she likes Ron Paul among a few others! What I find interesting is the last thing Tucker Carlson said "ah you said my favorite magic words." Who was Tucker talking about?

A Post Mortum Letter to Harry Browne, one of the freest men in recent history.
Harry Browne, I wish you could have made it a few more years to see your eloquent message of Libertarianism spread like wild fire in the form of Ron Paul. LOL. A frail but curiously spry and sharp man. Harry, he's a Republican from Texas! How's that for delicious irony after this recent horrible reign of Boy King George II? I lost hope for the Libertarian message after your death. I never knew you personally but I listened to every single radio show and read everything you've ever wrote. As most of your callers, even the hostile ones would acknowledge: you were a gracious, dignified gentlemen and a titan in the "Libertarian Movement". I credit you with setting my thoughts free and turning me on to the Libertarian message. I know you weren't a particularly religious or spiritual person, nor am I...but I just can't help but to hope that somehow, maybe, you "know" about this Ron Paul Revolution. RIP Harry Browne. I never thought your shoes could ever be filled. Somebody has finally stepped forward to fill the horrible vacuum that your death created. Ronald Earnest Paul.

Ron Paul Sickness
You know who you are. Every few days (or less) you sit down and type in "Ron Paul" into Google to get your "Ron Paul" fix. You check www.technorati.com every so often and delight in Ron Paul's ROCK SOLID position in the top 4 most blogged about people. You devour every new nugget of Ron Paul information, follow his campaign like you've never followed one before. Ron Paul could be your grandfather by the pride you feel personally of his successes. You are getting more and more bold with your unapologetic support for Ron Paul as you see the Ron Paul Revolution grow larger and larger.
Congratulations, you've got Ron Paul Sickness. You are not alone.
Ron Paul. Not a cult of personality, but a cult of ideology. Freedom.

John Harwood makes me sick
I really can't stand to look at his face as his mouth drains power from his eyes when he drones on and on about the (yawn) "top tier" candidates.

The anatomy of the "Ron Paul Effect"
Just get the message out in front of them. Watch as Bill Maher feels the effect:
3/30/2007
5/25/2007 This time, Mr. Maher stands to greet Dr. Paul and apologizes to him for the way he conducted his last interview. "I realized after watching you in the debate that this is a man I want to talk to a lot more." Quite a change from the combatitive and slightly hostile interview above.
9/17/2007. Bill Maher is asked by Wolf Blitzer who he thinks is the best candidate for president. Bill looks into the camera, unblinking and says "Ron Paul".
Pining for Terrorism
You know what the answer to Bill Mahers question to Chuck Hagle is?
(How can a pro war republican win in a general election where the vast majority of the people are against the war?)
Rick Santorum has the answer:
http://willdo.philadelphiaweekly.com/archives/2007/07/rick_santorum_w.html
"Between now and November, a lot of things are going to happen, and I believe that by this time next year, the American public’s going to have a very different view of this war, and it will be because, I think, of some unfortunate events, that like we’re seeing unfold in the UK. But I think the American public’s going to have a very different view."
Then there is this sicko openly hoping for a terrorist attack:
http://www.arkansasnews.com/archive/2007/06/07/News/342341.html
"At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing (in Iraq), and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on (Sept. 11), and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country," Milligan was quoted as saying in the Sunday edition of Arkansas' statewide newspaper."
Creepy.

WILL IT HAVE BEEN WORTH IT?
"TNA: Should you fail to be nominated/elected, would you believe that your presidential bid would still have been worthwhile?
Ron Paul: It has already been worthwhile. It has been wonderful to see how the message of freedom resonates across the country. But many more Americans will have to awaken if we are going to save our country."

Ron Paul's WIDE appeal- Democrats for Ron Paul
"And, from the democratic side, abortion aside, is there any candidate who remotely comes close to matching the somewhat radical social positions that Ron Paul stakes out(well, other than Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel)?"

A Bonafid Grass Roots Movement
"The sense of urgency on the part of Paul’s supporters comes not just from his message, and not just from his honesty and integrity – qualities even his opponents usually concede. It comes from a sense that this may be our last chance. After Ron Paul there is only a line of hacks as far as the eye can see. We may never see his like again, and we may never have such an opportunity again."

The top tier candidates can't buy this kind of "buzz".
