"But the disparity between his online support and his performance in primaries raises the question: Is the power of the Internet to influence politics all that it's cracked up to be?
Not yet, says David Thorburn, the director of the Masschusetts Institute of Technology's Communications Forum and a co-author of Democracy and the New Media. 'Intense and passionate support from an intellectually elite minority that lives in cyberspace does not translate into support among the general population,' he argues. "

Looks like War is Coming.....
From the precient, Justin Raimondo:
"As I warned during the British sailors' contretemps, the presence of Western warships in the Gulf makes the likelihood of a confrontation with the Iranians almost inevitable. The maritime boundaries, between Iran and Oman, for instance, are hazy: it is not inconceivable that the American ships went off course, for one reason or another, and the Iranians responded – or vice-versa. In any case, this ongoing game of cat-and-mouse is tailor-made for setting the stage for an all-out war."

Laura Ingram gets OWNED by Ron Paul
She just spews out the Neo-con talking points with Ron Paul's penetrating rebuttels going right over her head. It seems the Neo-Cons rationale for things is a mile wide and an inch deep, lacking any kind of intellectual honesty or intelligence.
From what I've heard of Laura Ingram, she's a smart chick and I don't think she buys any of her own crap. She needs her money and will be a whore if need be. At least she's not a cheap whore, but a whore nonetheless.

A Transcript of Howard Stern on Ron Paul (1/8/2008)
Since Howard's people are policing YouTube so militantly and effectively so far, here is the transcript to today's discussion of Ron Paul. I think it was better than yesterday's discussion. Is Howard Stern going to catch "Ron Paul Fever"?
Howard:
You know who i'm digging is that Ron Paul guy....but I don't think he's got a shot.
Robin:
Now, I don't know what Ron Paul looks like, I keep seeing his signs.
Howard:
I didn't know anything about him until a couple of days ago. I'm watching, i was watching something on Fox News with Bill....not Bill O'Reilly but it was something else....and they were interviewing Ron Paul and I sat there and ya know, I figured he was just some kooky right wing ya know, Republican.
Robin:
Uh-huh.
Howard:
So, i'm listening to the dude and afterwards, Beth is sitting next to me and I didn't say anything and then all of the sudden I went uh 'ya know, I think I agree with everything that dude just said' (Robin laughs.) and then she goes 'I did too!' I go 'I don't know who that guy is!' He wants us out of Iraq, like I mean, day ONE!
Robin:
And he's a Republican?
Howard:
Republican, he, he...I JUST found out yesterday because somebody wrote me after I talked about the guy, that he's the ONLY, i guess at the time he was a congressmen, he's the ONLY ONE who stood up for us about the FCC saying that they should have complete freedom on the radio.
Robin:
Really!
Howard:
And, he's for ABOLISHING the FCC!
Robin:
Uh-oh, I might just have to vote Ron Paul
(laughter)
Howard:
A lot of people wrote me about him. (laughter)
Howard:
And I was like 'wow, this guy is like, I HAVE to say, I don't know who he is but he's pretty bright and he's making a lot of sense.
Let's see, here's a .... I got a whole bunch of letters too, people saying 'thank you for the positive input on DR. Paul', I guess he's a doctor.
Robin:
Oh! Is he a PHD or an MD?
Howard:
I hope an MD. [quoting from letter] 'He's the only one who can help America heal, i'm a Dr. Ron Paul supporter and have been canvassing at home in Arkansas and sending letters to other states carrying the revolution.'
Somebody says uh, 'He's a real person with the best interests of America, please allow him on your show.'
Robin:
Well let's have him on.
Howard:
'...he's a Libertarian minded Republican who's captured the imagination of a lot of younger voters on the internet, curing their voter apathy. This is evidenced that Dr. Paul raised more money in a single day than any other presidential candidate.
Here's a guy from CANDA, he's a Canadian citizen and he's trying to get Ron Paul elected. (Robin Laughs)
So I dunno, I, I just happened to hear the guy talk and everything he said I kind of agreed with....which is WIERD...'cause I don't know anything about the dude....but I don't think he's got, I mean, I dunno, I don't see him being taken seriously, which is a shame. I mean, why not? If you pick that Fred Thompson guy, who's humorlous, ya know, it's hard to...Ronal Reagon was an actor and he had that ability to communicate on camera with people. Boy, when Fred Thompson get's on he just seems like and ANGRY F%^$ing guy...like...like your dad yelling at ya. And ya know, it's sad, today's world because of the media exposure, you gotta be really good on camera, has nothing to do with your policies. They say Franklin Roosevelt who was, you know, in a wheel chair could never have won today because he would have looked frail and weak!
Robin:
That's right.
Howard:
He never had to go on TV. These cats that go on TV and really know how to work it, ya know, be all charm'n and stuff those are the guys who win. So. I dunno, you don't necessarily get the best dude, ya get the guy who can, ya know, make the ladies cry.

Don't try and find Howard Stern talking about Ron Paul on YouTube
"Howard Stern Productions" is apparently, rabidly policing the major video sites and are taking down any of the various Howard Stern segments talking about Ron Paul.
I hope they reconsider this.
Also, strangely, somebody has put a filter on the SternFan@HowardStern.com e-mail address that filters out any mention of Ron Paul. I sent an e-mail to this address thanking Howard Stern for his discussion of Ron Paul. I got the following error message:
Recipient address: SternFan@HowardStern.com
Reason: Remote SMTP server has rejected address
Diagnostic code: smtp;554 Mail for SternFan@HowardStern.com rejected for policy reasons.
Remote system: dns;stranger.howardstern.com (TCP|206.46.252.44|54938|38.136.157.171|25)
Very strange. I really hope the more zealous Ron Paul fans don't turn Howard off to Ron Paul and his message by cramming it down his throat.
And I REALLY wish they would give up trying to take down Howard Shows on YouTube.

CBS News Opinion Piece Predicts Ron Paul Primary Win.
Ok, not quite, BUT, they concede that the Ron Paul Revolution is a movement with far reaching effects.
It's funny how you don't hear comparisons anymore to the Howard Dean campaign because this Ron Paul Revolution has eclipsed it totally. Congratulations America, it looks like the Ron Paul Revolution fuse has been lit and there is no putting it out and no going back. Even if Ron Paul doesn't win, he's ignited and energized a segment of the population and an ideology that WILL EVENTUALLY PREVAIL.
FROM CBS NEWS OPINION PIECE:
"Paul's campaign refers to itself as "The Ron Paul Revolution" and there can be no doubt any longer that it is revolutionizing the way in which grassroots fundraising plays out in American presidential campaigns."
"If Republican primary voters follow - even in reasonable numbers - then Ron Paul's campaign really will be a revolution. And he will be the 2008 candidate who is remembered for doing something that can matter more than winning a party nomination or a November election, and that is changing the politics of a country that needs every new approach to altering a corrupt and dysfunctional status quo."

“There is a revolution going on in this country and I’m happy to be a part of it.”
"The fact that Ron Paul supporters are enthusiastic and willing to work in the trenches disseminating information about him should alert any intelligent person that there is something important about the Ron Paul message and that it needs to be investigated more thoroughly. Ron Paul has been quoted as saying, “There is a revolution going on in this country and I’m happy to be a part of it.”"

MSNBC on Ron Paul, The 6 Million Dollar Man! "WOW"
From MSNBC's "First Thoughts"
"*** Ron Paul’s Tea Party: Speaking of Paul… Pegged to the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, the Paul campaign yesterday raked in more than $6 million, surpassing the $4 million-plus it raised in an earlier fundraiser tied to Guy Fawkes Day. And it has now raised $18.2 million for the 4th quarter. We have one word to say about Paul’s haul: Wow. Much has been made about the lack of the excitement over the GOP field. But there is clearly excitement -- at least online -- about one of the Republican candidates. The problem for the GOP is Paul won’t likely be its nominee. And many of these Paul backers aren’t really Republicans…
